Jardine Restaurant Group Named Innovation Movers – Technology Pioneer
In Recognition of its Achievements in Digital Transformation
Jardine Restaurant Group (JRG), one of Asia’s leading restaurant groups and a member of the Jardine Matheson Group, has been named “Innovation Movers – Technology Pioneer” by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) at the Corporate Innovation Summit 2021. This is in recognition of the company’s outstanding digital transformation efforts to enhance its operations and customer experience.
Andrew Wong, Group Chief Executive of JRG, said, “At JRG, innovation is more than just technology but the empowerment of our people with the digital mindset and skills. That is why we have been investing strategically in both new technologies and people development. We are proud to have a team of passionate colleagues who dare to rethink the future of the food and beverage industry, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”
JRG sees innovation as a way to deliver a joyful experience to customers in an ever-changing world. In recent years, the company has been investing in new technologies such as smart food lockers, delivery management system, computer vision and automated cooking machines. It helps streamline the traditionally labour-intensive restaurant operations while also benefiting customers with a seamless omnichannel experience under the new normal.
Organised by HKSTP, the inaugural Innovation Movers award programme recognises Hong Kong corporations’ outstanding achievements in corporate innovation and adoption. Award entries were evaluated by a panel of judges from various sectors. The judging criteria include the ability to promote innovation adoption or co-creation, to represent the robust innovation ecosystem, and to showcase Hong Kong as a major innovation hub in the region. A total of 13 companies have been named Innovation Movers this year.
